Baxter’s New Apartments Bring Pickleball: The Timberline Heights apartment project, a new four-story, 73-unit building, has received approval from the City of Baxter. One of its standout features is a dedicated pickleball court, alongside other recreational amenities designed to enhance community living.
Pickleball and Outdoor Amenities
The development will include a state-of-the-art outdoor pickleball court, catering to the sport’s growing popularity. Residents will also enjoy a pool with a deck and a building for showers and restrooms, picnic areas, a community fire pit, and walking trails that surround the property.
“The development is planned to have trail access all the way around the apartment building and preserves the natural wetland basin to the east.” – (Baxter)
The pickleball court is part of a broader effort to create engaging outdoor spaces for residents to relax and stay active.
“The development would include amenities such as a carwash and pet wash on the ground floor of the apartment and play area, pool, and pickleball court to the west of the apartment building. The development also provides the cul-de-sac extension (at the end of Grand Oaks Road) for the single-family residential neighborhood to the west.” – (Baxter)
Project Overview
Timberline Heights, located north of Clearwater Road, will include studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units ranging from 526 to 1,350 square feet.
Each unit will feature a balcony, in-unit laundry, and individually controlled heating and air conditioning. The building will also offer amenities such as:
- Indoor Spaces: A fitness center, theater room, car wash, dog wash, community room, and a two-story lobby.
- Secure Living: Enclosed parking, assigned parking spots, a secure main entrance, and centralized elevator access.
Pickleball’s Growing Appeal
Pickleball has become a sought-after recreational activity nationwide, and its inclusion in Timberline Heights reflects the sport’s increasing demand.
With its dedicated court, the facility aims to attract enthusiasts and provide residents with a fun, social activity. The pickleball court, along with other outdoor features, will be located west of the apartment building.
Developer’s Vision
Christopher Raimann, vice president of architecture at Kuepers Inc., highlighted the integration of modern living and natural preservation in the project.
“As proud residents of the lakes area, we envision a high-quality building that will serve our community well.” – (Raimann)
Large forested buffers and preserved wetlands will minimize the visual impact of the high-density development.
Location and Accessibility
The apartment building will be close to shopping, restaurants, and services, as well as a planned dog park. A cul-de-sac extension at Grand Oaks Road will provide better access to the nearby single-family neighborhood.
