A charity Project 150 pickleball tournament will take place at Desert Vista Community Center in Las Vegas on April 5-6, 2025, to support Project 150. The event is organized by the Sun City Summerlin Pickleball Club, with all proceeds benefiting homeless and disadvantaged high school students.
Tournament Details and Format
The tournament will feature six teams in each bracket, with divisions determined by age after registration closes. All events will follow a round-robin format, with one game to 15 points. The top three teams in each bracket will be recognized. Players’ DUPR ratings or self-ratings from Pickleball.com will determine bracket placement.
Registration opens on January 28, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. PST and closes on March 28, 2025, at 11:55 p.m. PST. The entry fee is $50, covering participation in one event. Players can enter a second event for an additional $15. Pickleball.com will charge a $5 administrative fee per player, per event.
If a designated partner does not register within seven days, the player will be placed on the waitlist. Players registering without a partner must find one within seven days to avoid being moved to the waitlist.
Community Engagement and Additional Activities
In addition to the competition, attendees are encouraged to contribute to Project 150’s food pantry by filling the Sienna Van with cereal donations. A raffle will also be held, featuring baskets filled with prizes. Donations can be dropped off anytime during the tournament.
Project 150 provides essential resources to homeless, displaced, and disadvantaged high school students, helping them stay in school and work toward graduation. The tournament aims to raise funds and awareness for this cause.
Refund and Parking Information
As this is a charity event, all proceeds, except for the $5 Pickleball.com charge per event, will be donated to Project 150. Therefore, no refunds will be issued. Parking at Desert Vista Community Center is free for all participants and spectators.
The pickleball event promises to bring the community together in support of a meaningful cause while offering a fun and competitive environment for pickleball enthusiasts.
