Portage Foundation Pickleball Classic Brings Exciting Competition for a Great Cause

The Portage Foundation Pickleball Classic will take place on March 1, 2025, at the Western Reserve Racquet and Fitness Club in Streetsboro, Ohio. This exciting pickleball event will raise funds for the Portage Foundation, which provides scholarships to local students and grants to non-profit organizations. Registration is open with a fee of $65, which increases to $75 after February 24.

This pickleball tournament will feature competitive play in three skill levels: Novice Open Doubles, Intermediate Open Doubles, and Advanced Open Doubles. The matches will be played in a round-robin format, followed by single-elimination games.

The event will feature matches played to 11 points, win by 2, during the round robin phase, and to 15 points, win by 2, in the single-elimination tournament. Players must self-rate their skill levels, and the tournament director reserves the right to adjust ratings if needed. Prizes will be awarded to the top 2 teams in each bracket.

In addition to the competitive play, there will be social play available for those who want a more relaxed experience. A pickleball pro will host a learn-to-play clinic, making this event accessible to all skill levels.
