The 1st Annual TAG Summerfest Open, hosted by Pickleball Is Great (PIG), will take place on May 31 and June 1, 2025, at TAG Training Ground in Melissa, Texas. The tournament will feature a round-robin format, with skill and age divisions and playoffs for gold, silver, and bronze medals.
Tournament Details
This year’s event will feature exciting competition for players ranging from skill levels 3.0 to 4.5+. Matches will include round-robin play, with winners advancing to playoffs. The tournament offers a fun, competitive environment, with all games played “win by 2” and most round-robin matches going to 15 points. In divisions with fewer players, matches may go to 11 points.
The tournament will kick off on Saturday, May 31, with women’s and men’s doubles events. Sunday, June 1, will feature mixed doubles competition. Players will self-rate and can play up to a skill level, but cannot play below their DUPR rating. Medals will be awarded to the top three teams in each division.
Registration for the event opens on January 31, 2025, and ends on May 25, 2025. Early registration costs $40, but the price increases to $45 after February 6. There is also an additional $15 fee for each event. Partner registration must be completed within seven days, or the player will be moved to the waitlist.
Venue and Logistics
The tournament will be held at TAG Training Ground, located at 3059 Champions Wy, Melissa, TX. The event will use covered courts with eight taped tennis courts and temporary nets. Players can expect an onsite restaurant, DougOut Sports Grill, for meals and refreshments. The parking is free, making it easy for players and spectators to attend.
Refund Policy
A $10 administration fee will apply to all refunds before the registration closes on May 25, 2025. No refunds will be issued after registration closes. If the event is canceled due to weather, participants will receive up to a 50% refund.
