The PB4ALL Shamrock Slam, an exciting pickleball tournament, will take place from March 15-16, 2025, at Flyte Racquet Club in San Rafael, California. Registration for the event opens on February 1, 2025, at 8:00 AM PST and closes on March 5, 2025, at 11:55 PM PST. The registration fee is $70 for non-members, with a special early-bird rate of $40 for Flyte members who sign up by February 14.
Flyte Racquet Club, located at 440 Smith Ranch Road, is the venue for this inaugural event. The tournament features men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles brackets for various skill levels, including 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, and 5.0+.
Celebrating Flyte Racquet Club’s Growth
Flyte Racquet Club is emerging as a premier facility for pickleball and other racquet sports in the Marin County area. Since its soft opening in late 2023, Flyte has added new amenities such as a fully equipped fitness center, locker rooms with a sauna, and 23 pickleball courts, including 7 indoor courts. The club is now celebrating its growth by hosting the PB4ALL Shamrock Slam.
Adam MacKinnon, founder of PB4ALL Pickleball, is presenting this event as an opportunity for players to test their competitive skills while also giving newcomers their first taste of tournament play.
Tournament Format and Prize Money
The tournament will feature a round-robin pool play format leading to medal rounds, with matches scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday. There will be separate brackets for different skill levels in men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles categories. Medal winners in the 4.5 and 5.0 brackets will be awarded prize money, including up to $300 per player for gold in the 5.0 events.
The event will be an MMP (Member Managed Pickleball) sanctioned tournament with referees for all medal matches and semi-finals. All USA Pickleball rules will apply, including the requirement for participants to be members of USA Pickleball.
Encouraging Community Engagement
The event is not only a chance for serious competition but also encourages community involvement. Organizers are offering free parking at Flyte Racquet Club and even incentivizing carpooling with a raffle. Players and spectators can also participate in a referee workshop held on February 22, 2025, at the same venue.
A portion of the tournament’s proceeds will go to the Pickleball Legacy Scholarship Foundation, which awards scholarships to youth athletes pursuing higher education.
