Bzer Ball for Pickleball Players: Ed Beazer Launches Game-Changing Training Tool

Bzer Ball for Pickleball Players: Ed Beazer, a 67-year-old pickleball enthusiast from Utah, has created the Bzer Ball, a unique training tool for pickleball players. The Bzer Ball aims to improve pickleball skills for players of all ages and skill levels. Beazer and his business partner, Jake Ralphs, developed the product after seeing its effectiveness in their training sessions.

The Journey to Bzer Ball

As pickleball gained popularity in Utah, Beazer became passionate about the sport. “You know, I was kind of good at it, and I kept getting better,” Beazer said. To enhance his skills, he hired Ralphs as a coach. During their training, Ralphs introduced a small rubber ball, which improved Beazer’s performance.

“It’s easy to learn. It doesn’t take a lot of equipment. You don’t have to be super strong, you can be older. It just attracts such a large segment of the population.” – (Ed Beazer)

“Since we saw that immediate improvement, we made it part of our weekly routine.” – (Ed Beazer)

Beazer noted that practicing with the rubber ball made hitting a regular pickleball easier.

“I call it this ‘wow moment.’ It’s easy to hit and it just made everything so much more fun.” – (Ed Beazer)

Recognizing the potential for a specialized training tool, Beazer and Ralphs researched the market for a similar product but found none.

Overcoming Challenges

Determined to fill the gap, Beazer and Ralphs developed the Bzer Ball. They worked with a California company to create prototypes, which took over a year. “It took over a year of prototypes coming to us,” Beazer said. After numerous adjustments, they finally received the perfect training ball in December 2023.

“It did everything the way we wanted. It bounced the way we wanted. It looked like a pickleball.” – (Ed Beazer)

The duo launched the Bzer Ball at an indoor facility in Sandy before demonstrating it at Murray Park.

Growing Popularity

The Bzer Ball quickly gained attention. They promoted it on social media and attracted influencers to help spread the word. After a podcast by Tyler Loong, sales surged, and they received orders from all 50 states.

“When he did that post, it just kind of took off. And so we started getting orders from all over the place.” – (Ed Beazer)

“I got so excited, because it just validated that I knew it worked. It worked for me, and it really validated for me that people around the country realize this is working. And just to have a presence in every state was just phenomenal in my eyes.” – (Ed Beazer)

Currently operating out of Beazer’s garage in Murray, they plan to expand to a warehouse in the area.

“It’s still a little family startup. We stuff the envelopes ourselves. I’ve got a box by my front door that’s waiting to go to the post office this afternoon. So, it’s still just a small, little startup company. But we’re hoping for big things.” – (Ed Beazer)

The Bzer Ball is available on Amazon and their website, Bzer.net, for $19.99 for a pack of three. With hopes for a successful 2025, Beazer is excited about the future of the Bzer Ball.

“It’s been so much fun and rewarding. We’re looking forward to what 2025 is going to do for us.” – (Ed Beazer)
