A Unique Approach to Pickleball Facilities
Mike Oliveri, the owner of Dink Shots, emphasized that the facility aims to be different from others by offering a flat-rate pricing model instead of fluctuating rates based on peak hours.
There are so many people that play pickleball. Its popularity is growing every day. I feel we are doing things differently than other places. A lot of facilities charge different rates at different times of the day so players pay more during the peak time, but I am going to change a flat rate.” – (Oliveri)
Additionally, Oliveri highlighted the climate-controlled environment, ensuring comfortable play regardless of Ohio’s extreme summer heat or harsh winter conditions.
“Children up to seniors love to play this sport, and here in Ohio, summers can be brutal, and then there is the winter weather. Whether it’s hot, it’s raining, or the humidity is high, it will always be a nice 70 to 72 degrees in Dink Shots.” – (Oliveri)
Pickleball’s Continued Growth in the U.S.
Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in the U.S., and the opening of Dink Shots adds to the increasing number of facilities catering to its rising popularity. The sport has seen significant economic impact, with more than 13,000 pickleball courts now available across the country.
Another pickleball facility, Picklr, also opened its doors on the same day. Former professional football player Mark Tauscher was in attendance for its launch, further highlighting the sport’s appeal among high-profile athletes and celebrities.
With its growing fan base and increasing investments in infrastructure, pickleball is on track to become one of the most-followed racquet sports in the U.S.
