The Pickle Lodge, one of the nation’s largest indoor pickleball facilities, is opening a new location on Cincinnati’s East Side. The facility has acquired the Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club (EHI) in Linwood and will begin transitioning into The Pickle Lodge at Lunken Landing after EHI’s indoor season ends in May.
Transforming a Tennis Club into a Pickleball Hub
EHI, a long-standing tennis club, will soon become a premier pickleball destination. Brian Clark, EHI’s owner, expressed confidence in the transition.
“Our family has always been passionate about tennis, but we are excited to see the longstanding tradition of racquet and paddle sports continue at Eastern Hills. We’re confident The Pickle Lodge team will care for the building, and the community, just like we did.” – (Clark)
The new facility will feature 16 indoor courts, including a championship court with spectator seating on three sides. It will also have cushioned courts, LED lighting, a full bar, private event spaces, and expanded parking.
A New Destination for Pickleball Players
Mitch Dunn, co-founder of The Pickle Lodge, shared his excitement about the expansion.
“Like we did in West Chester, we will create a must-play pickleball destination for players in the heart of the city. As pickleball fanatics, we will transition Eastern Hills into the place we all want to play.” – (dunn)
The Pickle Lodge partnered with Peter Klekamp, founder of ACES Pickleball Bar + Grill at Factory 52, to acquire the club. Klekamp’s commercial real estate expertise will support the facility’s transformation.
“I share a common passion with the Pickle Lodge team, which is to provide the best possible playing experience. Everything we do at Lunken Landing will be focused on what players want out of a great pickleball facility.” – (Klekamp)
