Learning the Basics of Pickleball

The program is designed for adults aged 18 and up who are new to the sport. Participants will learn fundamental skills such as serving, scoring, and proper footwork.

The instructors will guide them through key techniques, including anticipation and positioning on the court. Players will also practice calling the score before each serve, an important aspect of game etiquette.

Pickleball has rapidly grown in popularity across the country, attracting players of all ages. This program aims to introduce newcomers to the game in a supportive and engaging environment. Participants are required to bring their paddles, ensuring they become comfortable with their equipment from the start.

Experienced Instructors Lead the Way

A team of skilled instructors, including Mandy Baker, Lindsay Shaner, and Laura Snow, will oversee the sessions. They will provide hands-on training, helping players develop confidence in their abilities.

Other instructors, such as Kim Emig, Ashley Bisesi, and Alex Smith, will also contribute their expertise to ensure participants receive quality coaching.

The lessons will take place at Tennis Court 1 in Sawmill Creek Park, a location chosen for its accessibility and ample space for gameplay. The program offers a balance of instruction and practice, allowing beginners to build a strong foundation while enjoying the game.

A Growing Sport with Community Appeal

Pickleball is recognized as America’s fastest-growing sport, with many communities embracing it as a fun and social activity. Programs like this one help introduce the game to new players while fostering a sense of community.

Organizers hope that by the end of the course, participants will feel confident enough to continue playing recreationally or even join local leagues.

The sessions promise to be an exciting opportunity for adults to stay active, meet new people, and enjoy a sport that is easy to learn yet challenging to master. With the guidance of dedicated instructors, players will gain valuable skills while having fun on the court.
