The San Francisco Pickleball League at Bay Club Gateway is set to begin on February 10, 2025, offering women’s recreational and intermediate pickleball play. The six-week league will feature a scramble format, with playoff tournaments scheduled for March 17 and March 20. Registration closes on February 28.
This pickleball league, hosted at Bay Club Gateway at 370 Drumm Street, welcomes members and non-members. Players will be grouped based on skill level, with recreational (3.0-3.25) matches on Monday mornings from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Intermediate (3.5+) players will compete on Thursdays, with sessions from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. If there are not enough players for two separate intermediate sessions, the league will combine them into a single session starting at 10 a.m.
Scramble Format and Digital Integration
The league will use a scramble format, meaning players will sign up individually and team up with different partners each week. Points will be tracked for each player throughout the season. Scores will be recorded using the Swish mobile app, which participants must download and link to their DUPR profile.
To link their accounts, players need to log in to the Swish app, navigate to their profile, and follow the prompts to add their DUPR ID. Those new to DUPR do not need a rating to register but must create an ID at mydupr.com.
Impact and Future Prospects
By opening registration to Bay Club members and non-members, the league aims to expand the local pickleball community. Participants who are Bay Club members receive a $10 discount by using the code BCMEMBERD at registration.
With the growing popularity of pickleball, the San Francisco League at Bay Club Gateway continues to provide a structured and engaging environment for players. Refunds are available (minus a $5 registration fee) if canceled by February 3, 2025.
As the season unfolds, players can expect a mix of competition and camaraderie, setting the stage for a thrilling playoff finale in March.
