Pickleball enthusiasts will gather in Augusta, Georgia, for the Southern Pickleball Bouncer Bash at DiNK’D Pickleball on March 15-16, 2025. This event, in partnership with Major League Pickleball’s Atlanta Bouncers, will mark the first Southern Pickleball-sanctioned tournament in the region.
The competition will take place at DiNK’D Pickleball, a state-of-the-art facility with nine indoor courts. Players will earn ranking points and medalists will qualify for the 2025 Southern Pickleball Championships. Registration, which opened on February 7, will close on March 9, with a $60 fee covering one event and an additional $10 charge for extra events.
Tournament Schedule and Format
Men’s and women’s doubles will take place on Saturday, March 15, followed by mixed doubles on Sunday, March 16. Play may begin as early as 8:00 AM each day, with specific start times announced one week prior.
This pickleball tournament will use a round-robin format, followed by medal matches for brackets with more than four teams. If brackets do not fill, divisions may be combined based on age and skill level, with awards still based on original divisions.
Player Ratings and Registration Details
DUPR ratings will determine player divisions, with skill levels ranging from 2.5 to 5.0+ and age groups spanning from 16+ to 70+. Players must compete at the higher-rated teammate’s level and the younger player’s age group. Ratings will be reviewed after February 28, and players with a reliability rating of 50 or lower may appeal.
Players must register with a partner, who must sign up within five days. If a partner does not register in time, the team will be placed on a waitlist. There are no referees for matches, but players can request one if available.
Competition Rules and Equipment
Southern Pickleball follows the USA Pickleball Rulebook for gameplay and officiating. Players must use paddles approved by USA Pickleball. Mizuno is the official shoe sponsor of the Southern Pickleball Association.
Refund Policy and Tournament Insurance
Players who withdraw before February 28 will receive a refund minus a $20 fee. No refunds will be issued after this date unless a player has purchased tournament insurance, which covers cancellations due to injury, family emergencies, or event cancellation. Registration fees cannot be transferred to another player.
