“We are delighted to be hosting friends from near and far at Iowa’s only outdoor 12-dedicated pickleball court complex,” Schickel will declare in his proclamation. The sentiment reflects the community’s pride in their premier pickleball facility, which has become a beacon for players across the region.

Mayor’s Call to Community

This year’s Pickleball Classic is not just about the games; it’s a celebration of the community spirit that defines Mason City. The event provides a unique opportunity for residents to connect with visitors, showing the charm and hospitality that make River City a special place.

“We will see spirited play all weekend; however, there are three things beyond competition that people love about pickleball: building a sense of community, making friends and having fun. I invite the entire community to join me in showing some radical River City hospitality to welcome our visitors and we invite our guests to discover why so many visitors of today are becoming River City transplants of tomorrow.” – (Mayor Bill Schickel)
