Pickleball Courts at Colony Cottage Temporarily Closed for Major Upgrades

The tennis and pickleball courts at Colony Cottage Recreation Center will be closed for resurfacing from Monday, February 17, through Sunday, March 2. The closure will allow for necessary maintenance to improve safety and playing conditions for residents and visitors.

Resurfacing to Enhance Playing Experience

Resurfacing is essential for maintaining high-quality courts. Over time, cracks and uneven surfaces develop due to weather and frequent use. The process will involve repairing damages, leveling the courts, and applying a new surface to improve traction and durability.

The recreation center is a popular location for pickleball and tennis players, and regular upkeep ensures a safe and enjoyable experience. Similar maintenance has been conducted at other courts in The Villages community to prolong their usability.

Temporary Closure and Alternative Options

During the closure, players are encouraged to use other available courts in the area. Several recreation centers in The Villages offer pickleball and tennis facilities, ensuring residents can continue their activities without major disruptions.

Officials have informed residents about the closure and advised them to check for updates on when the courts will reopen. The resurfacing work is expected to be completed on schedule, with the courts reopening on March 3.

Commitment to Recreation and Safety

The Villages community prioritizes maintaining high-quality recreational facilities. By investing in regular maintenance and improvements, officials aim to provide residents with a safe and enjoyable environment for sports and leisure activities.

Upon reopening, the newly resurfaced courts are expected to offer a better playing experience. This project reflects The Villages’ ongoing commitment to enhancing recreational opportunities for its residents.
