Ace Pickleball Club’s Olathe Indoor Pickleball Courts: New Facility Opens This Summer!

Ace Pickleball Club’s Olathe Indoor Pickleball Courts: Ace Pickleball Club will open a new location in Olathe later this year. Construction on the facility is set to begin in the next month or two, with plans for the club to open by late summer or early fall, likely in August or September.

Facility Details and Features

The new club will be located at 1445 S. Mahaffie Cir, near the Kansas Rush Soccer Club, in a space previously occupied by the Natural Baseball Academy.

The Olathe pickleball facility will feature 11 full-sized indoor pickleball courts and a smaller “dinking” court for warming up and practicing. Courts will be divided by skill level, catering to beginners, intermediate, and advanced players. There will also be a stretching area and space for private events.

Hours for the facility are expected to run from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays. Ace Pickleball operates on a membership basis but also welcomes walk-ins when space is available. Members can bring non-member guests with them.

Community Impact and Future Plans

“What we’re offering is indoor courts that are climate-controlled, that have 10-layer court surfaces that are designed to be a little bit easier on your knees. If you want to come in and play, you’re not worried about if it’s too hot, too cold, too windy, or too late. You’re in a climate controlled space, and you’re in courts that are divided from each other.” – (Alexander McCarty, co-franchisee of the Olathe location)

This new location will be Ace Pickleball’s first in Johnson County. The club’s first location opened in Roswell, Georgia, in 2023. McCarty and Mitch Morse, who co-own the new Olathe facility, also run Premium Outdoor Grills, an online business they started in 2018. As pickleball enthusiasts, McCarty and Morse were seeking a dedicated indoor space to play and practice.

“We were looking for a facility that focused purely on pickleball, without the distractions of food and drink venues. There’s a demand in the area for a place where serious players can train and compete in a comfortable, well-equipped environment.” – (McCarty)

The duo hopes to expand Ace Pickleball’s presence in the Kansas City area, with plans to open four or five locations in the metro area in the future.

“I think (I’m most excited about) being able to create a community of Olathe pickleball players that are all really excited about the sport and dedicated to it, and looking for that premier pickleball space. I think (Morse) and I for the last few years have wanted that to exist here, and to be able to go and play games and play tournaments and leagues in that community really excites me.” – (McCarty)
