Pickleball Lessons Return to Southborough: Southborough Rec is opening registration for its spring and summer outdoor pickleball lessons. The classes, which often fill up quickly, will be available for adults 18 and older. Registration for the first session opens tonight at 7:00 p.m., with lessons beginning on March 31 at the Mooney Field tennis courts.
Beginner Lessons for All Skill Levels
The program offers two levels of beginner instruction. Beginner 1 is for newcomers, teaching the basics of rules, techniques, and gameplay. Participants will start with fundamentals and progress to full games.
Beginner 2 is designed for those who have completed a prior Beginner 1 clinic or have a 2.5 rating with knowledge of scoring and court positioning. This level focuses on improving consistency with dinks, drops, volleys, serves, and groundstrokes.
Class Schedule and Pricing
Each session costs $110 and includes six weekly 90-minute lessons. The first session runs from March 31 to May 12, excluding April 21. Classes are capped at eight players per session and are taught by certified instructor Lisa Giusti.
Beginner 1 class times:
- 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.
- 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Beginner 2 class times:
- 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Second Session Opens in April
For those unable to join the first session or looking to advance from Beginner 1 to Beginner 2, a second round of classes will run from May 19 to June 30, excluding Memorial Day. Registration for this session opens on April 13, with morning and evening class times switching.
