SLYP to Host Pickleball Tournament: The Student Leadership Youth Program (SLYP) is hosting a pickleball tournament to raise funds for its initiatives. The event will take place on Saturday, March 29, at the Woodrow Wilson High School Gymnasium, with registration starting at 9:00 a.m. and the tournament beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Competitive Play for a Cause
The tournament is open to doubles teams and will follow a double-elimination format. Players will be grouped into brackets based on skill level to ensure fair competition. The team registration fee is $40, and the final deadline to register is March 24. Teams that sign up by March 17 will receive a guaranteed event t-shirt.
Sponsorship and Donations
Sponsors can contribute $100, which includes their name on the event t-shirt, signage at the venue, and a social media mention. Those who cannot attend but wish to support SLYP can donate to the SLYP Fund through the Beckley Area Foundation (BAF). Donations can be made online at bafwv.org or sent by mail with “SLYP Fund” in the memo to BAF at 1210 South Kanawha St., Beckley, WV 25801.
