Fort Madison Pickleball Courts: The Fort Madison Pickleball Association has secured a $10,000 grant from Climax Molybdenum to install new benches with shade canopies at the pickleball courts. A new shelter house, built by Morton Buildings, will also be constructed nearby, enhancing comfort for players, families, and visitors at Victory Park.
Grant Funds Court Improvements
The grant will fund shaded benches, allowing players to stay cool and play longer during hot summer months. The improvements will make the courts more comfortable and enjoyable for the growing number of pickleball players using the facility.
New Shelter for Community Use
In addition to the shaded seating, a new shelter house will be built between the courts and the baseball diamond. Equipped with picnic tables, it will serve as a shaded gathering area for players and park visitors.
Community Support and Gratitude
The Fort Madison Pickleball Association, made up of local members, worked closely with the city and private donors to make these upgrades possible.
“We are incredibly grateful to Climax Molybdenum for their generous support. These improvements will significantly enhance the playing experience and make Victory Park an even better place for our community.” – (Donna Amandus, chair of Fort Madison Pickleball Association)
