Pickleball Tournament to Support Charity: The Student Government Organization (SGO) is preparing for two major events aimed at bringing students together and supporting a charitable cause. The annual Colonial Crown talent competition and a newly introduced pickleball tournament will provide opportunities for students to participate in friendly competition while raising funds for charity.
Colonial Crown Returns With Prom Ticket Prize
The Colonial Crown, a long-standing school tradition, will feature performances from senior students. This year’s winner will receive two tickets to the senior prom. Isabella Master shared excitement over the event, emphasizing its importance in maintaining school traditions and fostering student engagement.
Pickleball Tournament Supports Charity
In addition to the Colonial Crown, the SGO is introducing a tournament. “For the pickleball tournament, we just put out an interest form,” Master said, encouraging students to sign up.
The tournament will take place during lunch, allowing students to compete without conflicting with their class schedules. Entry fees are set at $5, with all proceeds going to a charity chosen by students.
SGO’s Continued Efforts to Give Back
Beyond planning these events, the SGO recently completed a holiday gift drive to help those in need. By organizing activities that promote school spirit and charitable giving, the SGO continues to strengthen the student community.
