Hundreds of pickleball players will gather at the Opelika SportsPlex for the Spring 2025 Paddles at the Plex tournament, scheduled from February 27 to March 2. This Southern Pickleball-sanctioned event will see medal winners qualify for the 2025 Southern Pickleball Championships.
A Packed Event with Top Competition
With registration capped at 500 participants, the pickleball tournament is now at full capacity. Over four days, players will compete in various singles and doubles events, featuring senior and under-60 categories.
The competition follows a round-robin format, with playoffs in select brackets where top teams from different pools will face off for medals.
Tournament Schedule and Format
The action kicks off on Thursday, February 27, with senior (60+) men’s singles and senior women’s doubles. Friday, February 28, will feature men’s doubles and women’s singles.
Saturday, March 1, is reserved for mixed doubles matches. The tournament concludes on Sunday, March 2, with under-60 men’s singles and under-60 women’s doubles.
In brackets divided into pools, the top two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs. The winner of Pool A will play the second-place team from Pool B, and vice versa. The winners of these matchups will compete for gold and silver, while the losing teams will play for bronze.
