Key Tips to Avoid Common Pickleball Mistakes

Pickleball’s Accessibility

For newcomers, the club provides a low-pressure environment to learn the game. You emphasized that pickleball is accessible to all skill levels.

“My advice for a newcomer is to get out and play. There are a lot of rules, and the game is easy to pick up.” – (Nicholas You)

Great Way to Stay Active

Beyond being a fun activity, pickleball offers physical and mental benefits. You highlighted the sport’s accessibility and its full-body workout potential.

“Pickleball is appealing because anybody can play. Age, sports background, or knowledge of the game does not matter. While not as intense on the body as other sports, it is still a full-body workout. Stretching is still important. No matter how a game goes, I always have fun playing.” – (Nicholas You)

Provision of Equipment

Students do not need to purchase equipment to join. The university provides paddles for those who need them.

“The equipment room has plenty of spare paddles for students to borrow. If a student decides they want their own gear, many department stores and Amazon offer a selection of equipment.” – (Nicholas You)

Looking ahead

The Pickleball Club aims to bring students together through the sport and create a welcoming environment for all. As the club grows, members are excited to take advantage of the new outdoor courts once the weather warms up.
