Cleveland’s First Indoor Pickleball Facility: Cleveland’s first dedicated indoor pickleball facility, the Cleveland Pickleball Center, is now open in the Bellaire-Puritas neighborhood. The $1 million project transformed a long-vacant warehouse into a modern pickleball destination, meeting the growing demand for courts in the region.
A New Community Asset
The once-abandoned warehouse is now a thriving sports facility. Cleveland City Councilman Brian Kazy highlighted the transformation, saying, “This was a major eyesore. Now it’s an asset both for the neighborhood and a destination for visitors.”
State-of-the-Art Facility Features
The Cleveland Pickleball Center offers:
- 10 indoor courts for year-round play.
- A private event space for gatherings.
- A pro shop for gear and equipment.
- An on-site bar for socializing after matches.
Court rentals are available to nonmembers for $14 per hour, while members, who pay $39 per month, receive a discounted rate of $7 per hour.
The Vision Behind the Project
Surprisingly, Rob Euerle, the Parma city councilman and entrepreneur behind the facility, had never played pickleball before starting the project. He secured a $100,000 grant from Cleveland’s federal pandemic stimulus funds to help finance the renovation, turning his vision into reality.
Impact on the Pickleball Community
The Cleveland Pickleball Center is expected to attract local players and visitors, further boosting the sport’s popularity. With more courts available, players of all skill levels can now enjoy the game indoors, regardless of the weather.
