New Indoor Pickleball Club in Riverhead: Box Pickleball, a new indoor pickleball club in Riverhead, has officially opened on Old Country Road. The 31,000-square-foot facility features nine regulation courts, a full-service restaurant and bar, and additional amusements like bocce, cornhole, and ping pong. Owner Peter Bachmore celebrated the club’s grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local officials and community members.
A Growing Community Hub
The club had a soft opening before Christmas and has already received a warm welcome from the local pickleball community. Bachmore expressed his excitement about the positive response so far.

Council Member Joann Waski echoed that sentiment, stating, “It’s not pickleball. It’s a whole experience.”
Membership and Court Fees
Box Pickleball offers annual memberships for $120, providing discounted court fees and 21-day advance reservations. However, non-members can also book courts. Prime-time rates (Friday evening and all-day weekends) are $60 per hour for up to six players, while weekday afternoon slots cost $35 per hour.
The club provides open play sessions for all skill levels, as well as private lessons and group clinics for those looking to improve their game.
Food, Drinks, and Entertainment
The Box Container Bar and Kitchen serves a variety of soups, salads, smash burgers, and sandwiches. It also offers a Sunday brunch menu along with a selection of beers, wines, and cocktails. The club plans to host DJ nights, live entertainment, and private events.
