Carson City Gears Up for the 6th Annual Dinks and Drinks Pickleball Tournament!

Pickleball players in Carson City and beyond can now register for the 6th annual Dinks and Drinks Pickleball Tournament, happening on April 5-6, 2025, at the Robert “Bob” Crowell Multi-Purpose Athletic Center (MAC). The popular tournament, known for its blend of competitive play and social fun, welcomes players of all skill levels for an exciting weekend of pickleball action.

Tournament Format and Skill Levels

The event will feature doubles and mixed doubles matches across multiple skill divisions:

  • Saturday, April 5: Women’s and Men’s Doubles (2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5+ skill levels; ages 10 and above).
  • Sunday, April 6: Mixed Doubles (same skill levels; ages 10 and above).

Organizers will aim to split matches into age groups whenever possible to ensure fair and balanced competition.

Tournament Experience and Court Setup

The tournament will transform the MAC into a dedicated pickleball venue for the weekend, providing players with high-quality courts and a well-organized competition structure. With Carson City Parks, Recreation, and Open Space donating the facility’s use, the event promises a top-tier playing experience.

“This is a fun event that many people from around the area have played in before,” said USAP Ambassador Dave Whitefield, highlighting the tournament’s reputation as a go-to event for regional pickleball enthusiasts.

Registration, T-Shirts, and Event Perks

Players can register now to secure their spot, with T-shirt pre-orders available until March 12 for pickup at the tournament.

One of the event’s unique draws is its “Drinks” aspect, where players and spectators can enjoy adult beverages while watching the matches. All proceeds from beverage sales will benefit the Mills Park Pickleball Court Project, a local initiative aimed at expanding and improving pickleball facilities in Carson City.

Supporting Local Pickleball Growth

The tournament is sponsored by the Carson City Parks and Recreation Department and the Foundation for Carson City Parks and Recreation. Net proceeds will go directly toward funding new pickleball courts at Mills Park, reinforcing the city’s commitment to growing the sport.

With a competitive tournament format, well-organized matches, and a strong community focus, the Dinks and Drinks Pickleball Tournament continues to be one of Carson City’s most anticipated annual sporting events.
