Hawai’i’s Biggest Indoor Pickleball Event: Pickleball enthusiasts from Hawai‘i and around the world will gather at the Hawai‘i Convention Center from April 10-13 for the Hawai‘i Pacific Health ESPN Honolulu Open, the largest indoor pickleball event in the state.
With over 33 indoor courts, the event will cater to all skill levels, featuring tournaments, corporate team challenges, and a competitive ProAm tournament with cash prizes. Attendees will also have access to free clinics, exhibitions, and a massive expo celebrating the sport.
Aiming for World-Class Status
Event organizers, including ESPN Honolulu, Hawai‘i Tourism Authority, and the O‘ahu Pickleball Association, hope to make this an annual destination event that brings players and spectators from across the globe.
“By providing pickleball players and enthusiasts with a premier venue to play, we’ll be able to attract players from around the state and world to compete in this rapidly growing sport,” said Matt Apana, GM of ESPN Honolulu.

A Tournament with a Purpose
A portion of the proceeds will support Hui Mahi‘ai ‘Āina, a non-profit organization providing resources, education, and self-sufficiency opportunities for the houseless community in Waimānalo. Ray Vara, president and CEO of Hawai‘i Pacific Health, emphasized the health benefits of pickleball.

Pickleball Coverage Expands in Hawai‘i
ESPN Honolulu has also introduced a new pickleball radio program, airing Wednesdays at 2:30 p.m. on 92.7 FM and 1420 AM. Hosted by Chris Hart, the show debuted on January 29 and aims to grow local interest in the sport.
