2025 Nutmeg State Games Pickleball Tournament Becomes a Battleground for Top Players

2025 Nutmeg State Games Pickleball Tournament: The 2025 Nutmeg State Games will host a pickleball tournament from June 27 to June 29, 2025, at The Tennis and Fitness Center of Rocky Hill, Connecticut. The event serves as a qualifier for the Carvana PPA Amateur State Championship in Dallas and the 2026 State Games of America in State College, Pennsylvania. Registration opens on March 3, 2025, and closes on June 13, 2025. The cost to participate is $65.

Tournament Schedule

The tournament will span three days with different events each day. On Friday, June 27, women’s doubles, men’s singles, and men’s skinny singles will take place.

Saturday, June 28, will feature mixed doubles, while Sunday, June 29, will host men’s doubles, women’s singles, and women’s skinny singles. The PPA Amateur State Championship Series and the State Games of America will be the key highlights.

The tournament offers players a chance to qualify for the 2026 State Games of America. The top three finishers in each event will secure spots for the event in State College.

Players who qualify for one event are eligible to compete in all three events, except for skinny singles, which is not a qualifying event.

Registration and Skill Levels

Registration is open to players of all ages, starting at 10 years old, and is based on skill levels. Skill levels include 3.0 and under, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, and 5.0+.

Players will be placed in appropriate brackets based on their DUPR ratings or self-ratings, which must be verified by an experienced player.

To guarantee a spot in doubles or mixed doubles, teams must have both partners register within five days of each other. Any incomplete teams will be moved to the waiting list.

Event Details

The tournament will feature a round-robin format. Events with a large number of players or teams will be split into pools, followed by playoffs for the top teams in each pool.

Specific start times for events will be emailed and texted to players one week before the tournament. The tournament format may be modified based on the number of participants.

Registration Fees

The registration fee is $65 for one event. Each additional doubles or mixed doubles event costs $15, while singles and skinny singles events will cost $25 each.

A $5 non-refundable fee is charged for one event or $10 for more than one event for using the PickleballBrackets.com software.

The tournament has a capacity limit of 405 players. Registration will close once this limit is reached, so participants are encouraged to register early to secure a spot.

Refund Policy

Refunds are not available for withdrawals from an event or for failing to secure a partner. If a participant withdraws before June 13, 2025, a refund minus a $10 processing fee will be issued. After June 13, no refunds will be provided. All refunds will be issued after the conclusion of the tournament.

Venue and Parking

The tournament will be held at The Tennis and Fitness Center of Rocky Hill, located at 1000 Elm Street, Rocky Hill, Connecticut. The venue offers free onsite parking for participants.
