The third annual Pickleball Madness Tournament, organized by the Tremonton Women’s Civic League, took place on February 20-21 at the Box Elder County Fairgrounds. The event saw 64 teams compete, raising nearly $2,000 toward potential outdoor pickleball courts in Tremonton.
Strong Community Turnout for Pickleball
Event organizer Joan Argyle expressed excitement over the growing participation in the tournament, which drew players from Tremonton as well as Logan, Malad, and Kaysville.
“The hardest part is getting people to sign up, so I’m very happy with all of the participation,” Argyle said. “There were always people on the courts.”
The tournament featured male, female, and co-ed brackets, with teams playing seven games each. Courts remained full throughout the event, creating a fun and competitive atmosphere.
Raising Funds for Outdoor Pickleball Courts
With this year’s success, the Civic League’s fund for outdoor pickleball courts has now grown to $4,000. While there are no formal construction plans yet, Argyle hopes the city will support the initiative once the funds are presented.
“It’s just a great community activity,” Argyle said. “And it’s a great way to be together and enjoy each other’s company.”
