This event will showcase the city’s growing reputation as a sports destination, with players competing for a spot in the 2025 Southern Pickleball Championships.
Tournament Details
The competition will feature men’s and women’s doubles on Saturday, March 8, followed by mixed doubles on Sunday, March 9. Matches will begin as early as 8 a.m., with the exact start times shared with players a week before the event. The tournament will use a round-robin format, leading to medal matches for divisions with more than four teams. Officials will combine brackets based on registration numbers, and age divisions will be maintained where possible.
Qualification for Southern Pickleball Championships
Medal winners in Hopkinsville will earn a qualification for the 2025 Southern Pickleball Championships, set to take place from Dec. 31-Jan. 4 at Rhythm and Rally in Macon, Georgia, the world’s largest indoor pickleball facility.
Divisions and Ratings
Skill levels for the tournament range from 2.5 to 5.0+, with age groups spanning 16+, 30+, 40+, 50+, 60+, and 70+. Teams must compete at the skill level of the higher-rated player and in the age group of the younger player, with age determined as of Dec. 31, 2025. Players’ DUPR ratings, updated on Feb. 16, will be used for placement. Matches will be self-monitored, and referees will be available on request.
