The facility now features 16 newly remodeled, lit pickleball courts, making it one of the top pickleball destinations in West Texas.
Lubbock’s Pickleball Growth Continues
The upgrades are part of Lubbock Parks and Recreation’s commitment to expanding the city’s pickleball scene. Tucker Richolson, assistant athletic coordinator, emphasized that the new courts are meant to serve the surging demand for the sport.
“We’ve got the facilities now, here we have 16 courts, obviously at McAlister we have twelve, so that’s twenty-four courts that is under city of Lubbock operations.” – (Richolson)
A Destination for Pickleball Players of All Levels
With drop-in play, leagues, tournaments, and summer camps, the Burgess-Rushing Tennis Center aims to be a go-to spot for local and visiting pickleball players.
“Then here at the tennis center, we have 12 tennis courts that are operational, so you know between our summer camps, our pricing, our leagues, our programs, our tournaments we put on here, this should be everybody’s first stop.” – (Richolson)
