Chesterfield County to Host Pickleball 102: Supervised Practice Drill and Play from March 8 to March 22, 2025, at Harry G. Daniel Park at Iron Bridge. This three-week course is designed to help players transition into Beginner/Advanced Beginner pickleball Leagues and Open Play.
Course Details and Structure
Pickleball 102 is not a beginner’s course and requires participants to have a basic understanding of the sport. Those registering must have either:
- Completed Pickleball Beginner 101, or
- Played pickleball for at least six consecutive months and received prior approval from the instructor.
The course is structured into three progressive sessions, each focusing on a different aspect of gameplay:
- Week 1: The Short Game
- Week 2: The Full Court Game
- Week 3: Strategy for Winning Each Point

Required Equipment and Guidelines
Participants must wear:
- Protective eyewear (glasses, sunglasses, or safety glasses).
- Court shoes (pickleball, tennis, or volleyball shoes).
- Sunscreen for outdoor play.
All paddles and pickleballs will be provided by the instructor.
Aimed at Skill Development
The course is tailored for players aged 50 and above looking to refine their game and build confidence before joining organized league play. By focusing on strategy, movement, and shot placement, pickleball players will develop the skills needed to compete effectively.
