The Picklr to Open New Pickleball Club: A new pickleball destination is coming to Johnson County as The Picklr, a Utah-based pickleball company, prepares to open a 15-court indoor facility later this year at Indian Creek Crossing.
Transforming a Former Hobby Lobby into a Pickleball Hub
Located at 16630 W. 135th St., The Picklr will take over a long-vacant space previously occupied by Hobby Lobby, which closed in 2018. The new facility will be part of the redevelopment of the Indian Creek Crossing shopping center, joining Crunch Fitness, which opened in January, and a planned QuikTrip location.
15 Indoor Courts and More for Pickleball Players
The Olathe Picklr location will feature:
- 15 professional-grade indoor courts.
- A pro shop for pickleball gear and accessories.
- Private event space for group bookings and tournaments.
- Locker rooms and showers for player convenience.
- Leagues and programs fo adults and kids.
The Picklr, which operates over 500 clubs nationwide, aims to grow the sport’s presence in Johnson County by providing a state-of-the-art indoor facility for players of all skill levels.
Indian Creek Crossing’s $26 Million Redevelopment
The Picklr is the latest addition to the $26 million redevelopment of Indian Creek Crossing, formerly known as Rosebud Plaza. Upgrades include renovations to existing buildings, new businesses, and parking lot improvements.
With the rapid surge of pickleball across the U.S., The Picklr’s expansion into Olathe reflects the increasing demand for dedicated pickleball facilities.
