Pickleball enthusiasts in East Montgomery will soon have a new place to play, as the city has broken ground on 12 state-of-the-art courts at Dean Fain Park. The $920,000 project, part of a larger sports complex, is set to be completed by October.

City Announces New Pickleball Courts

The City of Montgomery held a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday to celebrate the construction of the new courts, located just off Minnie Brown Road. The courts will be built with high-quality acrylic surfaces, Musco Sports lighting, and a design that caters to players of all skill levels.

Multi-Phase Sports Complex Development

According to Mayor Steven Reed, this is only Phase 1 of a larger development plan, with Phase 2 currently in progress. The 40-acre complex is expected to enhance recreational opportunities in the community.

“We want to make sure that you understand this project is more than just being about courts,” said Mayor Reed. “It’s about community. It’s about giving families, seniors, and athletes a place to gather, stay active, and build connections through the sport of pickleball.”

Expected Opening and Community Impact

Construction is scheduled to be completed by October, bringing much-anticipated recreational space to the area. The addition of these courts aligns with Montgomery’s ongoing efforts to promote active lifestyles and social engagement through sports.
