Ace Pickleball Set to Open in Brookfield: Ace Pickleball, a fast-growing national pickleball franchise, is set to open a new location in Brookfield, Wisconsin, at the Ruby Isle shopping center. The club, located at 2205 N. Calhoun Road, will occupy a 45,000-square-foot space previously used by a Pick n’ Save grocery store that closed in 2022. The facility is expected to open in August after renovations.
Unique Membership-Only Model
The Brookfield club will operate on a membership-only, open-play model. This means that only members will have access, and they will play in a style similar to pick-up basketball games. Unlike many other pickleball facilities, Ace Pickleball will not offer food and beverage services or entertainment options.
“(Ace) has a refined business model,” said Mohammed Chaudhry, principal at Embarq Group LLC, the franchisee for the Brookfield location.
Expanding Presence in Southeastern Wisconsin
Embarq Group LLC, based in Atlanta, Georgia, originally planned to open locations in its home state. However, due to a lack of suitable real estate, the company shifted its focus to Wisconsin, where there was strong demand for Ace Pickleball’s unique model. Chaudhry confirmed that additional locations are planned across southeastern Wisconsin in the future.
Modern Facilities and Construction Plans
The Brookfield club will include 17 courts, locker rooms, a pro shop, a viewing deck, and a mezzanine level for private parties. Demolition of the existing space is set to be completed by the end of this week, with construction beginning within the next two weeks.
Competitive Pickleball Market in Wisconsin
Despite the growing number of pickleball facilities in the region, Chaudhry believes Ace Pickleball will stand out. “The experience at Ace will be different from (its) competitors,” he said.
Ace Pickleball currently has more than 20 locations open or in development across several states, including Georgia, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, New Jersey, Nebraska, Florida, Texas, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Arizona.
Growing Interest in Pickleball
Pickleball has been one of the fastest-growing sports in the U.S., attracting players of all ages. With Ace Pickleball’s expansion, Brookfield residents will have another option to play in a structured and exclusive setting. The club’s membership-based model may appeal to players looking for a dedicated pickleball community.
