Nike Pickleball Camp at Plaza Hotel: Pickleball enthusiasts will have a unique opportunity to train with one of the sport’s top professionals as the Plaza Hotel & Casino hosts a three-day Nike Pickleball Camp from Friday, March 14 through Sunday, March 16, 2025. Led by Rick Witsken, a nationally ranked senior pro and co-founder of the National Pickleball League (NPL), the camp will take place at the Plaza’s 16 rooftop pickleball courts—the most of any Las Vegas resort.
The Nike Pickleball Camp welcomes players aged 18 and older, from beginners to advanced competitors, offering a structured learning experience in a fun and supportive environment. Participants can register for one, two, or all three days, with each session focusing on a specific aspect of the game to enhance skills and game strategy.
Camp Schedule and Focus Areas
- Friday, March 14 – Short & Soft Game Skills (Dinks, Drops, Controlled Shots)
- Saturday, March 15 – Aggressive Game Skills (Drives, Serves, Returns, Speed Ups)
- Sunday, March 16 – Strategy & Positioning (Court Awareness, Shot Selection, Partner Play)
All sessions run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. each day, giving players hands-on instruction and personalized coaching.
About Rick Witsken – A Leader in Pickleball Instruction
Rick Witsken, a former world-ranked ATP tennis player, is currently ranked #1 on the Association of Pickleball Players (APP) Senior Pro Men’s Standings. With over 100 senior and open pro medals, he has served as director of more than 50 camps across the country.
Beyond coaching, Witsken is an advocate for pickleball growth, hosting the “RipSken Pickleball” podcast, posting instructional videos online, and even founding the first public middle school pickleball team at Zionsville Middle School in Whitestown, Indiana.
