San Diego’s largest pickleball tournament, the Better Buzz San Diego Pickleball Open, will take place from March 14-16, 2025, at the Barnes Tennis Center. The three-day event will feature over 1,500 players of all skill levels, including a celebrity division, a wheelchair division, and a youth clinic.
Tournament Supports Youth Tennis Programs
The event will raise funds for Youth Tennis San Diego, a non-profit that provides pickleball and tennis lessons to underprivileged children. The tournament aims to introduce more kids to racquet sports, helping those who might not otherwise have access to equipment or training.

Vendor Village, Celebrity Players, and Youth Clinics
The tournament will feature a vendor village with 12 local vendors, offering pickleball gear, refreshments, and more. A celebrity division is also part of the event, with local personality Heather Lake rumored to be competing.
Spectators are welcome to watch for free, and there are still limited spots available for the children’s clinic on Saturday at 3:00 PM, which is also free to attend.
Main Court App Connects Players and Coaches
A new app, Main Court, will be showcased at the event, helping players find local matches, training sessions, and professional coaches.
“It’s amazing. When you’re a new player, it’s hard to find a good coach. This app makes it easy to book lessons without sharing personal contact information,” said Jessica Mason, a pickleball pro and coach featured on the app.
The Growth of Pickleball in San Diego
Pickleball has become the fastest-growing sport in the U.S., attracting players of all ages.
