The Picklr to Open in Early Summer 2025: A new indoor pickleball facility could provide relief to Bozeman residents frustrated by noise complaints from outdoor courts at Bogert Park. The Picklr, a fast-growing indoor pickleball franchise, has announced plans to open a 36,000-square-foot facility north of Four Corners in early summer 2025.
State-of-the-Art Indoor Pickleball Coming to Bozeman
The Bozeman Picklr Club will feature 13 courts, a full pro shop, two private event spaces with mezzanine viewing, locker rooms with showers, and an 800-square-foot gym. The facility will be part of a nationwide expansion, with 475 Picklr clubs planned across the U.S.
Local franchisee Andrew Brief, along with his wife Kelly and business partner Dave Kuck, said the facility will provide a year-round space for competitors and new players looking to learn in a low-pressure environment.
“Our goal is to promote a year-round family club atmosphere where those who are serious about their game can continually improve and compete at the highest levels, while also creating a low pressure, learning environment for those new to the game who have been hesitant to brave the chaos at local parks and rec centers.” – (Brief)
Noise Complaints at Bogert Park Spark Demand for Indoor Play
Pickleball’s rapid growth has led to challenges in Bozeman, particularly at Bogert Park, where players organize tournaments and informal games from early morning until late at night.
Last summer, resident complaints prompted the city to restrict court access, locking them outside official 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. hours. Bozeman’s recreation program manager, Jamie Saitta, believes the new indoor facility will help distribute play more evenly.
“I think this facility opening will definitely help to better meet the need for pickleball in our community. It does continue to see rapid growth and gain in popularity. We’ve seen a 311% increase in the past three years alone. So that’s significant. I think any opportunities that open up that allow more spaces for people to play will help.” – (Saitta)
Bozeman’s Growing Indoor Pickleball Scene
The Picklr isn’t the first indoor pickleball venue in Gallatin County. In fall 2024, Montana State University graduate Elliot Marcille opened Bozeman Classic Pickleball Club on East Peach Street, which has already hosted over 5,000 players.
With demand continuing to grow, the city is exploring funding options for additional outdoor courts in non-residential areas while also installing sound barriers around park fencing and encouraging the use of quieter equipment.
“This (noise concerns) is not unique to Bozeman. Cities across the country are experiencing this and again, it has to do with the rapid growth in the sport but the noise concerns are definitely valid. The noise is disturbing neighbors’ everyday lives and negatively impacting the enjoyment of their homes. So the city has responded to that and will continue to respond.” – (Saitta)
What’s Next for Pickleball in Bozeman
The Picklr is expected to open in June, offering an alternative for players seeking indoor, noise-free courts. Meanwhile, Bogert Park’s courts are set to reopen in May, weather permitting, with new restrictions and sound mitigation efforts in place.
News in Brief: The Picklr to Open in Early Summer 2025
The Picklr, a 13-court indoor pickleball facility, will open in Bozeman this summer, offering a year-round playing option while helping to address noise complaints at Bogert Park. The city is also installing sound barriers and considering new outdoor courts in non-residential areas.
