5-Court Indoor Pickleball Facility: A new indoor pickleball complex is coming to Coppell, north of State Highway 121. The Coppell City Council unanimously approved zoning for the 17,655-square-foot facility during a March 11 meeting. The project will include five pickleball courts, a speculative restaurant, and retail space, according to city staff.
24/7 Pickleball Access with Security Monitoring
The pickleball courts will operate 24/7, offering round-the-clock play for enthusiasts. Staff will be on-site until midnight, after which security cameras will monitor the facility, said Development Services Administrator Matt Steer. The Coppell Planning and Zoning Commission previously recommended the zoning before it was approved by the city council.
Restaurant and Retail to Complement Sports Concept
The project aims to include a restaurant and retail space aligned with the venue’s sports focus. While the restaurant brand has not yet been determined, the proposed operating hours are 6 a.m. to midnight.
Facility Breakdown and Design
The 1.6-acre property will feature:
- Five indoor pickleball courts – 13,000 square feet
- Speculative restaurant – 2,485 square feet
- Retail space – 2,170 square feet
The building will be a metal structure clad in red brick and stone. A 6-foot-tall masonry wall will be built on the north side to separate the facility from a nearby residential area.
