Florida’s Indoor Pickleball Market Grows: Southwest Florida is set for a major indoor pickleball expansion, with five new facilities scheduled to open in 2025. The state currently ranks second in the nation with 770 courts, just behind California’s 794.
Growing Demand for Indoor Pickleball Courts
With pickleball’s rapid surge, several companies are working to meet the increasing demand for high-quality indoor courts. Ace Rodrigues, CEO of Pickleball Kingdom, emphasized the sport’s rising popularity.
“Florida has long been a hotspot for pickleball, and the demand for high-quality indoor courts has never been greater,” Rodrigues told Naples Daily News. “It’s exploding in Florida with a passionate and rapidly expanding community.”
New Pickleball Facilities Opening in 2025
Several new venues are set to launch across Southwest Florida, including:
- Oasis Indoor Pickleball – Opened in January in Collier County, becoming the region’s first dedicated indoor pickleball venue.
- Pickleball Kingdom – Plans to open 20 locations across the state.
- Picklr – A Utah-based brand launching its first Florida location in Fort Myers by midsummer, with a second location planned for Collier County.
- Ace Pickleball Club – An Atlanta-based company opening a facility at Alessio Trade Center in Fort Myers around the same time as Picklr.
- PickleRage – A Miami Beach-based brand preparing for a Fort Myers location.
Additionally, Naples locals will meet on March 18 to discuss plans for an indoor facility near Great Wolf Lodge.
Industry Challenges and Closures
Despite the pickleball’s rise, not all ventures have thrived. The Pickleball Club, which previously planned to expand in Southwest Florida, has closed all of its locations due to financial struggles.
