Centerline Pickleball Club Opens in Warwick, Expanding Indoor Play Options

Centerline Pickleball Club Opens in Warwick: Centerline Pickleball Club has officially opened in Warwick, bringing a new indoor facility dedicated to the fast-growing sport. The club, which celebrated its grand opening last Saturday, offers eight courts across 22,000 square feet and aims to serve players of all skill levels.

A New Home for Pickleball Players

The facility includes a private function room, a pro shop, and a lounge area. It also hosts birthday parties, corporate team-building events, and private gatherings. Members receive benefits such as free open play and discounts on rentals, leagues, and clinics, while non-members are welcome to participate in free play.

Rhode Island’s pickleball community has expanded rapidly in recent years. The club’s team, led by owner Gary Bucci, was excited to finally open its doors.

“The road getting here was choppy, bumpy, long, but we made it and we’re very grateful for that,”. “The chance to open this business trumped all others, and our clients have been incredible.”(Gary Bucci)

Community and Official Support

Local officials, including Warwick Mayor Frank Picozzi and Cranston Mayor Ken Hopkins, attended the grand opening. Picozzi recalled his first introduction to the sport.

“When I became mayor four years ago, our parks and recreation director came to me and said, ‘There’s a great demand for pickleball,’ and I looked her in the eye and said, ‘What the hell’s a pickleball?’”. “Then I learned it’s the fastest-growing sport in the state and the country.”(Warwick Mayor Frank Picozzi)

Dennis DeJesus highlighted the sport’s increasing popularity nationwide.

“Approximately 50 million Americans this past year played pickleball at least once. That tells you the growth of this great sport and how popular it is becoming in the country,”(Dennis DeJesus)

he said, noting that 33 percent of players are over 65.

Building a Pickleball Community

Bucci hopes the facility will help build a welcoming environment for players.

“Our members have been so respectful, appreciative, and so enjoyable to be around,” he said. “Our goal is to continue to make our facility warm and friendly so the word gets out. This is how we hope to continue to build and prosper at Centerline Pickleball.”(Gary Bucci)

The club is located at 33 Lambert Lind Highway in Warwick, near the Cranston border.
