St. Michael High School Hosts Pickleball Fundraiser: St. Michael High School will hold a charity pickleball tournament next weekend to support Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital. The event, called “Paddles for a Cause,” is scheduled for Saturday, March 29, and Sunday, March 30. Registration closes this Saturday.
Student-Led Initiative for a Good Cause
The idea for the tournament came from St. Michael junior Alex Klumpp, who wanted to make a positive impact in his community. He saw pickleball as a way to bring people together while raising funds for a meaningful cause.
“I think it’s just gonna be a great event where it’s just kinda like a community gathering and it’s gonna be all fun. I wanted to make a difference at my school, and also give back to our community and Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital is just like the perfect idea. It was the greatest place for that because they truly do God’s work here on this Earth.” – (Alex Klumpp)
Encouraging Community Participation
The tournament welcomes players of all skill levels and aims to create a fun and inclusive environment. All proceeds will go to the children’s hospital, supporting vital programs and services for young patients. Those interested in participating can sign up before the registration deadline on Saturday.
