Ace Pickleball Club to Open in Solon: The once familiar hum of retail commerce is set to give way to the thwack of pickleball paddles as Ace Pickleball Club prepares to open its doors this fall in the newly renovated space of the former Bed Bath & Beyond at the Uptown Solon shopping center on Kruse Drive.
A Strategic Move for Pickleball Enthusiasts
David Munsell, a Hudson resident and one of the club’s part-owners and investors, shared an optimistic update with the Cleveland Jewish News. The ambitious project is on schedule, with Munsell confident that the new location will hit all the right notes for pickleball enthusiasts.
“It’s going very well, and we are right on target,” Munsell reported, reflecting on the project’s progress. The selection of this site was strategic—boasting highway access and proximity to affluent suburbs like Pepper Pike and Orange, the location is poised to attract a wide audience.
A State-of-the-Art Facility
Inside the repurposed space, pickleball fans will find a state-of-the-art facility featuring 13 courts, a dedicated practice area, and ample amenities including stretching zones and locker rooms. The facility will be equipped with air conditioning and rubber-base courts, designed to be gentle on the joints and conducive to an enjoyable playing experience.
“So, it’s very friendly on your joints,” Munsell explained, emphasizing the thought put into creating a player-centric environment.
Community Excitement and Support
Angee Shaker, Solon’s Director of Economic Development, echoed the excitement surrounding the opening. She noted that the timing of the fall launch is ideal, given the warmer weather and the availability of outdoor courts at Solon Community Park on SOM Center Road during the summer.
“People in Solon just love pickleball,” Shaker said with evident enthusiasm. “It’s the fastest-growing sport in the country, and this new facility is going to provide fantastic opportunities for residents of all ages to engage in social activity.”
Shaker highlighted that Ace Pickleball Club aligns perfectly with the city’s vision of promoting physical fitness and fostering community interaction. The new facility is expected to make a significant positive impact on Solon’s residents, offering a modern hub for both competitive play and casual socializing.
As the opening day draws nearer, anticipation builds for what Ace Pickleball Club will bring to Solon. With its cutting-edge amenities and commitment to enhancing the local pickleball scene, the club is set to become a vibrant center for the sport and a key asset to the community.
