Pickleball Courts Bring Big Changes: Children at the Fuller Center’s west Boca Raton campus now have the chance to learn pickleball, thanks to a generous donation from the Boca West Children’s Foundation and a partnership with the National Women’s Pickleball Foundation. The donation has led to the construction of two new courts, providing kids with access to the sport while promoting community-building, education, and physical fitness.
National Women’s Pickleball Foundation Expands Its Mission
The National Women’s Pickleball Foundation, a newly formed non-profit, has chosen the Fuller Center as one of its first local initiatives. The organization focuses on empowering individuals through pickleball, using the sport as a tool for growth and community engagement.
“We want to uplift communities and enrich the sport itself,” said Co-founders Catherin Barton and Alita Friedman, who hope the non-profit will make a nationwide impact.
Fuller Center’s Commitment to Helping Families
The Fuller Center serves under-resourced families and children, and these new pickleball courts will enhance their mission. “These courts will give kids a chance to stay active while learning teamwork and sportsmanship,” said Brian Jones, Chief Development Officer at the Fuller Center.
CBS12’s Sam Kerrigan and Lauren Olesky visited the Fuller Center to check out the new courts and discuss the positive impact they will have on the children.
Upcoming Pickleball Benefit Event
To further support its initiatives, the National Women’s Pickleball Foundation is hosting its inaugural benefit, “POWER with a PURPOSE”, on April 2nd at Boca West Country Club. The event aims to raise funds and awareness for pickleball programs that help communities across the country.
