The TOLM Group of Morrilton is set to host its second annual pickleball tournament, raising funds for its scholarship foundation. The foundation, established in 2023, honors the legacy of former TOLM employee Ralph Calhoun, whose passing deeply impacted the company.
Supporting Future Construction Professionals
The scholarship fund aims to assist students pursuing careers in the construction industry, whether through college or trade school. TOLM’s Michael Frazier emphasized the importance of financial support for trade school students, who often have fewer scholarship opportunities.
“The foundation was started as a way to generate scholarships to give to kids looking to get in the construction industry, whether through college or trade school. Trade school is where there’s not a lot of scholarship opportunities and we want to be able to provide that opportunity to help the kids or anyone trying to get in the industry…” – (Frazier)
Tournament Details and Fundraising Goals
Last year, the foundation awarded three scholarships. With this year’s event, organizers hope to raise enough funds to provide five scholarships. The pickleball tournament will take place on May 17 at the Morrilton City Park courts, featuring men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles divisions.
