Pickleball Players Battle for Golden Ticket: The 2025 Buhl Park Pickleball Shootouts will take place from August 22 to August 24 at Buhl Park Golf Course & Driving Range in Hermitage, Pennsylvania. This event, a Golden Ticket Qualifier, will feature intense matches in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles categories.
Weekend Full of Competition
Players will compete in pool play to determine seeding for a single-elimination tournament. The event kicks off Friday at 5:00 PM with full-court open singles. Women’s doubles will begin Saturday at 8:00 AM, followed by men’s doubles between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
Mixed doubles matches will conclude the event on Sunday, starting at 11:00 AM. Participants must register in teams and pay a $30 entry fee per player. Each registrant will receive a bag and t-shirt, regardless of how many divisions they enter.
Rules and Scoring Format
The pickleball tournament will use rally scoring, meaning a point is awarded after every rally, regardless of who serves. Games will be played to 25 points, win by 2. Teams can only switch sides after a timeout, which is limited to one per game.
Pool play will be randomized, and if there are not enough teams for multiple pools, one group will determine seeding. Players will call their own out balls, and scores must be reported immediately.
Event Director and Refund Policy
Ryan Voisey, the tournament director, can be contacted at ryan@buhlpark.org for inquiries. Refunds will be available, minus a $15 administration fee, until August 15. No refunds will be issued after that date. If the event is affected by weather, no refunds will be given, and organizers may modify the format or reschedule for August 29-31.
