Pickleball Bash Returns to Sunriver: Pickleball enthusiasts will gather at Fort Rock Park in Sunriver, Oregon, for the Play On! Pickleball Bash on May 31 and June 1, 2025. This event, which serves as both a tournament and a fundraiser, aims to support the Sunriver Music Festival. Participants will compete in individual scramble and team events across different skill levels.
A Competitive and Fun Tournament
This pickleball tournament kicks off on Saturday, May 31, at 9:00 a.m. with the Men’s Individual Scramble and Team events. The Women’s Individual Scramble and Team events will begin later that day at 1:00 p.m. On Sunday, June 1, at 9:00 a.m., the tournament will conclude with Mixed Individual Scramble and Team events.
Players can compete in three different skill categories: Recreational (up to 3.5), Intermediate (3.5 – 4.0), and Competitive (4.0 and above). Individual Round Robin Scrambles will be divided into Recreational and Competitive pools. When possible, participants will be grouped by age and skill level for fair competition.
How the Scramble and Team Events Work
The Individual Round Robin Scramble allows players to register without a partner. Each competitor will be randomly paired with others within their group, creating a club-style competition. Depending on the number of participants, players will compete in three, four, or six games. The top three players in each scramble will be recognized.
For the team competition, players will compete in a Round Robin format, leading to final playoffs. Teams will be grouped based on their skill levels, with age-based divisions when possible. Standard tournament scoring will be used, and the top three teams in each bracket will be crowned champions.
Adjustments and Scheduling
The Tournament Director will oversee the event, making necessary changes to brackets and schedules based on registration numbers, weather conditions, and game timing. Organizers aim to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all players.
