Court 16 provides tennis and pickleball classes, academies, and private lessons for children and adults. The club aims to make these sports accessible in urban areas where courts are limited. CEO and co-founder Anthony Evrard emphasized that Court 16 is designed to be a neighborhood-friendly space that fosters community connections.
The Fishtown location is housed within a 78,000-square-foot mixed-use development, which also includes a childcare facility and Red Bull’s regional offices.
Expansion Beyond New York
Founded in 2014 in Brooklyn by Evrard and entrepreneur Romain Aubanel, Court 16 has grown to include locations in Manhattan and Queens, with additional clubs planned for Yonkers and Boston. The Fishtown club represents a key milestone as the company’s first move beyond New York. Evrard noted the significance of this expansion for the privately owned business.
Membership and Future Plans
Membership at Court 16 starts at approximately $500 annually per person, which grants access to special events and the kids academy. Additionally, classes are available for purchase, with prices ranging from $40 to $100 per session.
With backing from investors such as Babolat and USTA Ventures, Court 16 aims to continue expanding and introducing more communities to tennis and pickleball.
