Fayetteville Smash 2025 Set to Shake Up Pickleball with Fierce Competition

Fayetteville Smash 2025: The Fayetteville Smash pickleball tournament will take place on May 10-11, 2025, at Wilson Park in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The event will bring together players of various skill levels and age groups for a competitive weekend of matches.

Registration opens on March 25, 2025, at 9:20 AM CST and closes on May 7, 2025, at 11:55 PM CST. The cost to participate is $50 per person for the first event and $10 for a second event. Players must register by skill level and use their USA Pickleball Tournament Rating (UTPR) if available. Those without a rating can self-rate.

Tournament Format and Schedule

The tournament will follow a round-robin format across all events. Most brackets will take three to four hours to complete. Players competing in doubles must register at the skill level of the higher-rated partner and the age bracket of the younger partner. To secure a spot, the second partner must sign up and pay within five days of the first partner’s registration. If not, the team will be placed on the waiting list.

Different match formats will apply based on the number of teams in an event:

  • Three teams: Double round-robin, best two out of three games to 11 (win by 2).
  • Four teams: Double round-robin, single game to 15 (win by 2).
  • Five teams: Single round-robin, best two out of three games to 11 (win by 2).
  • Six to nine teams: Single round-robin, single game to 15 (win by 2).
  • Ten to sixteen teams: Split into two pools, with top teams advancing to medal rounds. All matches in pool play and medal rounds will be one game to 15 (win by 2).

The event will award medals to the top two teams based on round-robin standings.

Tiebreaker Rules and Refund Policy

The tournament will use the International Federation of Pickleball (IFP) standard for tiebreakers. If two or more teams are tied, rankings will be determined by:

  1. Head-to-head record.
  2. Point differential across all round-robin games.
  3. Head-to-head point differential.
  4. Point differential against the highest-ranked team.

Teams that withdraw before completing pool play will have their results nullified.

Players can request a refund until May 4, 2025, minus a $10 processing fee. Refunds will be processed after the tournament concludes.

Tournament Impact and Expectations

The Fayetteville Smash aims to attract a wide range of pickleball players and foster competitive yet friendly matchups. The event is expected to boost interest in the sport locally while providing a structured competition for seasoned players. Organizers have the flexibility to adjust brackets based on final registration numbers.

Wilson Park offers free parking for attendees. The detailed event schedule will be posted and emailed to participants on May 8, 2025.
