Calvert City Summer Slam Returns—Who Will Claim the Championship This Year?

The third annual Calvert City Summer Slam is set to take place from May 30 to June 1, 2025, at the Calvert City Pickleball Courts in Kentucky. This highly anticipated pickleball tournament, sanctioned by the Southern Pickleball Association, welcomes players of all skill levels and will determine who takes home the championship title.

Tournament Details and Schedule

The tournament will feature men’s, women’s, and mixed divisions, with 2.5 skill-level matches scheduled for Friday, while 3.0 men’s and women’s events will be played Friday evening. The 3.0 mixed tournament will take place on Sunday. The event is expected to draw a large crowd, with proceeds benefiting the Marshall County Youth Services Centers.

All medal winners will qualify for the 2025 Southern Pickleball Championships, adding an extra layer of competition. Registration is open until May 23, with a fee of $50 per player. Those who sign up before May 1 will receive an official tournament shirt.

Community and Player Experience

Beyond the competition, Summer Slam offers a vibrant community atmosphere with food trucks, hydration stations, and vendors selling pickleball equipment. Players can warm up on the new dink nets located in the skate park. A major improvement this year includes brand-new bathrooms, replacing the portable restrooms from previous tournaments.

Weather and Refund Policy

As an outdoor event, the tournament will proceed as scheduled regardless of weather conditions. However, in case of severe weather, organizers will attempt to complete as many matches as possible. Refunds will be available until May 23, with some expenses deducted. No refunds will be issued after the deadline.
