Pickle in the Park: Why This Pickleball Event Is a Must-Play in Pauls Valley

Pickle in the Park: The Pauls Valley Tennis and Racquet Association is finalizing preparations for Pickle in the Park, a pickleball event scheduled for Saturday, April 12, at the Wacker Park tennis courts. Play is set to begin at 8:30 a.m., welcoming participants of all skill levels.

Event Details and Venue

The tournament will take place on the four newly renovated pickleball courts on the east side of Wacker Park, which have been marked with shadow lines for pickleball. Additionally, six older courts in the park will be used to accommodate the doubles-only event.

Fun Activities and Registration

A special pickle-eating contest for kids 12 and under will be held at noon, adding a fun twist to the day’s events. Players interested in joining the tournament can register online through the local tennis and racquet association’s website. Entry fees are set at $20 for youth participants and between $40 and $50 per person for adults.

Looking Ahead: Wimbley in the Valley

Following Pickle in the Park, the association will host its second annual Wimbley in the Valley, a touchtennis tournament on the grass courts of Wacker Park, on July 12. This event is expected to bring another exciting competition to the local sports scene.
