Scottsdale to Host World’s Largest Pickleball Hub by 2026

World’s Largest Pickleball Hub: A massive new pickleball complex, PURE Pickleball & Padel, is set to open in Scottsdale, Arizona, in 2026. The 190,000-square-foot facility in the Talking Stick Entertainment District will feature 48 pickleball courts, two padel courts, a pro shop, fitness equipment, a sports recovery center, a restaurant and rooftop bar, childcare and study rooms, office space, and a 1,200-seat professional pickleball arena with broadcast booths.

A Major Hub for Pickleball Enthusiasts

PURE will be the headquarters for Major League Pickleball’s Phoenix Flames, making it a central location for professional and amateur players. The project’s co-founders, Kevin J. Berk and Brett Warner envision the facility as a year-round destination for the sport. “This is basically a pickleball country club,” Berk said in an October 2024 article by Axios reporter Jessica Boehm.

A Vision for Growth and Community

With Arizona’s warm climate making pickleball an outdoor sport nearly year-round, the founders believe Scottsdale is the perfect location for such a large-scale complex.

“This is where you’ve got players all year long, 100-plus degree heat, they’re here at sunrise, they’re here after sunset. If something like this doesn’t work in Scottsdale, it’s not going to work anywhere,” Warner said in a January 2025 article by Cronkite News reporter Kendall Flynn.

Warner also expressed hopes that PURE could create an atmosphere similar to that of the PGA Tour’s WM Phoenix Open. “If we can pull off something similar to (the PGA Tour’s WM Phoenix Open) for the sport of pickleball where it’s sports, entertainment and it’s participation, this is just the perfect time, perfect sport, perfect location.”

Bringing People Together Through Pickleball

The founders aim to make the facility welcoming to people of all ages and skill levels.

“The vision for PURE is to find a way to connect the whole community around pickleball and to be able to bring people in who have never played,” Warner said. “So, all ages, all skill levels.”

The Future of Pickleball in Scottsdale

With its extensive amenities and focus on community engagement, PURE Pickleball & Padel is expected to become a major destination for players, fans, and professionals. The facility’s opening in 2026 will mark a significant milestone in the sport’s rapid growth, solidifying Scottsdale’s position as a leading pickleball hub.
