The Bowling Green Pickleball Blast is set for July 12-13, 2025, at Michael O. Buchanon Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Organized by the Southern Pickleball Association, the event is a sanctioned tournament featuring men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles competitions.
Registration is open until July 6, 2025, with an entry fee of $60 for one event and $10 for additional events. Players must register with a partner within five days to avoid being moved to the waitlist. The last day to register and receive a free tournament shirt is June 29.
Tournament Schedule and Format
Men’s and women’s doubles matches will take place on Saturday, July 12, followed by mixed doubles on Sunday, July 13. Matches begin as early as 8:00 AM each day, with exact times released closer to the event.
Play follows a round-robin format with medal brackets for divisions with more than four teams. If a bracket does not have enough teams, tournament officials may combine brackets based on age, ensuring fair competition.
Skill and Age Divisions
Skill levels range from 2.5 to 5.0+, and age groups include 16+, 35+, 50+, 60+, and 70+. A team competes at the higher-rated player’s skill level and the younger player’s age group. Age is determined as of December 31, 2025.
DUPR ratings will be used to group players into brackets. Players with a DUPR reliability rating of 50 or lower may appeal their rating. On June 22, tournament staff will review and adjust player placements based on updated DUPR ratings.
Tournament Rules and Equipment
Matches will follow USA Pickleball rules. While referees are not assigned, players may request one if needed. All paddles used in the event must be approved by USA Pickleball.

Refund and Insurance Policy
Players may withdraw by June 22 for a refund, minus a $20 administrative fee. No refunds will be issued after this date unless tournament insurance has been purchased. Insurance covers cancellations due to weather, injuries, or family emergencies. Player fees are non-transferable.
